Should have known when Land Rover called me it would not be good news. Turns out they are not building ANY Range Rover Velar's in Q1 2019 and are temporarily halting production so it's going be June 2019 or later... [emoji24] [emoji35] [emoji849][emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2962]
I'm leasing mine through a broker, and placed my order whilst the car was already in build and ready for late Jan delivery. That's know been bumped back to late Feb.
I placed my order yday (04/01/2019) and the Preston dealership has estimated a delivery date of end of March - I've ordered the D180

Just spoke to my dealer regarding order placed on Oct 16th for my Velar Dynamic 180 SE. He confirmed that on December 22nd JLR told dealers that there would be a delay in delivering Velars in the first quarter 2019 due to on-going quality issues. I have no reason to doubt this information.
Strange, as contradicts the info given to us by both Land Rover CS and Guy Salmon Sheffield last week in that our Velar D180 R-Dynamic SE ordered on 1st Dec is due for delivery first week of March. Both also stressed there are no delays in production at this time and only delays are where dealers have exhausted their individual build quotas.
Musky3415 have you got a confirmed build date and last change date with your order? I'm still in the holding pool of doom at Bolton! Ordered 3rd week November and not heard a dickie bird other than I'm in the pool.
Gents, I am still being told my order which was allocated a build date within 2 weeks of order is still on track for 15th Feb build and March delivery. Am I being strung along? Its also the Stratstone groupon deal .. getting a bit fed up now.
Perhaps the delay is in the back log of orders that can not be allocated a slot and are sitting in the holding pool. The dealer who has been pretty straight talking all the way through is advising is advising no change to plan. Fingers crossed.
ok so I had my car delivered this weekend. The handover guy at LR said the reason why there are no build slots for the D180s is because they cant make the 2.0 diesel engines fast enough to cope with the recent demand. They also have to build the other types of the engine variants and they cant just put them to one side and also given the recent staff cuts and reduced days have led to these major delays.

That's what I was thinking I've ordered the D180, heard nothing and ordered end of October.. I can keep my BMW (which is family car) till march and luckily have another car so will wait as long as it takes.. BMW are keep asking me to buy an X6 but we have an X4 so fancy something different.
Hold your nerves everyone . I was lucky I jumped on this deal in august and got my car on the 1st December . Trust me its worth the wait. I know you don't get much feedback from Stratstone dealers ( clearly a company policy) but the car will come . I've only done 500 miles so far and most of that is a ridiculously small daily commute, but I've done a couple of motorway trips and its a really nice engine, nothing special but more than adequate for me. I don't live too far from the engine plant in Staffordshire so if needs be i'll nip down and give them a kick up the arse and get some more D180 engines built 🤔🤔

I couldn't agree more. I picked mine up this afternoon and in the relatively short journey back, I was very impressed with the D180 engine. A surprising amount of low end torque. I was a little concerned having come from an Audi TTS
The car is well worth the wait - a fabulous drive and place to be. It's just frustrating with the lack of update from dealers and JLR.
Just a thought but if our Stratstone orders are delayed and delivered in Q2 / April onwards is there a chance they may not honour the cheap rate finance if this is increased for Q1? I'm sure the dealer said the car had to be delivered by March. Of course this would result in lots of cancelled orders so counter productive but who knows. Surely not!
