So car in for a Phase 4 software update and was advised that Phase 5 is now available but there has been trouble loading the software and stability issues. So naturally staying with Phase 5 as experience has taught me there is NO first mover advantage with JLR.
Anyone experience Phase 5 yet?
Do you have release notes you can PM me with what exactly is on offer?
My today experience: as you I have S19A-19.11.4-330884 and the system was/is telling me that its up to date, this morning I had a meeting close to my dealer, I went a little bit early and got to my dealer first, since we are friends they let me have a look at topix, checked my vehicle and, in the sota section, it was saying that an update was present, than I went to my car and voila! 7MB of update was showing as available, i've started the download, it finisched istantaneaously and started installing it, i drove to my meeting while it was installing the update, parked and turned off and closed the car. Yes, while it was still updating. Blame on me. After the meeting got back to the car, it was still on S19A-19.11.4-330884 and it was/is saying that it is up to date, checked back on Topix at the dealer and, again, it was saying that an update was available and the status was "ready" (no idea of the meaning).
Long story short now I'm on S19A-19.11.4-330884 and the system is telling me that its up to date.
Thanks PCheaven - this was very helpful as it signals small improvements.
I think I am going to stay with 18C till the next full firmware update as I have no problems at the moment - so not going to 19A3
That said @PhilM will be good to hear what you think!
Those saying that JLR are fobbing us off with a fix via software update should take solace in the fact that it is a known issue now written in black and white with pending fix. First confirmation from them they know about it.
19a is where JLR should have been at when they released these pesky cars. It's pretty good overall. Just a known issue with reverse camera that wasn't there before.
Yesterday July 11th, Dealer (Fields Land Rover @ Jacksonville, Florida) installed latest 19A (S19A_19.20.4-363281) InControl SW plus Smart Phone Pack (Apple Car Play/Android Auto).
Dealer Tech stated SOTA not yet available for the Velar, but you can see from photo the "Check for update" and when I selected the screen showed "No Updates Available" and the top right side of screen showed "Lock software updates".
Dealer did charge $300 for the Smart Phone Pack since it is still listed as a $300 option on the "Build" site, even for the R-Dynamic HSE P380.
All systems work great with perfect iPhone Apple Car Play integration - no glitches and improved response times for InControl.
Note: Tech did advise to make sure you use an official iPhone wire harness to avoid any integration issues.

Per my 19A install post above, no issues before or after concerning reverse camera.
The Air Suspension did randomly change settings before but stable now based on selected setting and ride appears consistent w each setting and ride height, etc..
I have driven over 150 miles since the above 19A install w numerous starts and shut downs.
Quick question from an ignoramus here. The software update to include Apple Carplay / Android Auto is that a paying option or should it come for free with any update they do? Being told it is £250.
In control has never really worked properly, laggy at best.

Mine was in last week & they wouldn't activate ACP for free. They said that now software updates are done over the air, ACP would require a separate 2 hour download via the OBD port & LR won't pay them for it.

I did not notice much difference overall w the 19A graphics, but then I need glasses when I drive !!
The center console Nav map display colors now appear a little washed out but the Nav turn directions in the driver dash display looked the same w great color definition.
Hi all. Went to JLR today to get CarPlay installed.
The software says updated to 19a 19.24.2 which is a new build as far as I am aware. Does anyone else have anything more recent than this? I have SOTA and I checked one month ago and was on the latest version, so this seems new.
Got my software updated from a very old one (don't know the version as it came with the car in October 2017) to the latest one (same version as tspdavey if I'm not wrong).
I also had CarPlay activated for free.
Have driven 30min yesterday and 45min this morning and had no crackles using iTunes on CarPlay.
My speakers were not crackling that much but I always a few ones during my trips.
I'll keep you posted if this comes back.
Interestingly, I have a version of 19A which appears to be an older version. However, when I check for updates, I get the message that the software is up to date and I had SOTA enabled by one of the members here. (And I updated from 18D to 19A via SOTA).
I have booked the car in to LR dealership to be looked at for a windscreen washer fluid leak. I will have the dealership to check out this upgrade during the visit.
