Same thing with the data limit issue here in NYC. I have unlimited data on my plan with AT&T, so this is definitely a bug with 20A. Frustrating.. nothing seems to solve it after troubleshooting, so will have to wait for an update I suppose.
Interesting. Though Haybrd is still on 19C and sees the same thing as I did starting yesterday.

Definitely interesting then. Perhaps all data flows through JLR servers, and they're having issues processing. Don't know what else would explain this if it wasn't introduced as a bug with the update.

It seems to have only started since the 'Stay Safe' message disappeared. Driving this morning it came up every 2 minutes consistently for the whole journey.

I have a 3 sim installed and I've definitely not used all my data allowance and I've checked to ensure I have no limits set on the data screen.

Hope it gets sorted soon as it does make for a frustrating drive.

I did think of that but the 19C version didn't have that splash screen. But seems quite the co-incidence. Though how a start up screen affects the data connection is beyond me. Unless the time out has triggered something.

So if it's a bug and the car thinks there's no data allowance, I wonder if SOTA is able to bypass that ? Or will our allowances reset tomorrow ?

#58 ·
It's definitely not local software related. If I connect to my phone hotspot, no data will load in the Velar still and that message appears again. My phone has unlimited data also, and is working fine.

Unless I am missing something here P380... that would indicate the fault 'is' at the cars end of it still doesn't work via your phones hotspot.

I guess tomorrow (the 1st of the month) we will see if the allowance resets and it starts working again. If it fails early like it has now, then LR needs to address this.

Another theory - LR pushed a minor update to 19C and 20A to try and stop the customers or Ubigi data SIM being used when using the Smartphone Connection kit and it's broken something?

My data renews on the 27th of the month and all was fine, it was only this morning I started to get this message. My car is in at the dealers tomorrow for some minor work and I will see what they say

This error is happening worldwide, with all providers, all JLR models, all software versions. My guess is an expired certificate and the actual error message being some default for uncaught exceptions. Won't necessarily work again by June 1st, but probably as soon as some JLR bloke returns from home office or lock down and renews that cert. Or something down that road.

That's a sound theory RRSTW. Hopefully someone on Monday will sort it 🤔

I was getting the message for the first time today on 19C. AT&T sim and it has unlimited data. Weirdly it didn't prevent 20A from downloading and installing. Once 20A installed and I let the car stand for 20 mins to finish the install the message did not return...so far.

We have the data limit splash screen - and I know for sure that the SIM is on a 20GB/month plan which we barely use.
Looks like some form of bug (but good to know across the models) as i was about to request a replacement SIM.

Not sure this has anything to do with 20A specifically as we have had this software version for a couple of weeks but this splash screen only started recently.
PS - we have not noticed any material difference with the 20A software - have you?

IMC updates are not included in the data allowance so SOTA updates should proceed OK.

Hi All,

I took delivery of my 20-plate UK Velar last week and this error message popped up over the weekend:

"Data Limit reached. Add more mobile data to continue using Online media and try again."

Like the posts above, there is still plenty of data on the Ubigi account (car is less than a week old after all!)

LR support have emailed me the following:

"Our Technical Team have identified a concern which is providing incorrect information about data usage in customer's infotainment systems. They are currently working on resolving this issue as soon as possible."

so looks like we'll just have to wait and see!

Same thing in Sweden with a different carrier and running 19C.
I called my dealer and they were clueless as usual and suggested I bring the car in for troubleshooting.
It baffles me how the dealers are always clueless to what's going on.
Appreciate this forum so much.

Dealers don't get told a lot of stuff so it's no wonder they can appear clueless. Many times these forums are more knowledgable than a manufacturers dealer / retailer. Its not just JLR dealers either.

Heard back Ubigi, it's a JLR issue with the data allowance message. Here is what they said:

" Thank you for contacting our customer service.

We would like to inform you that the notification appearing on your infotainment screen is related to the vehicle and not to your Ubigi SIM card, please know that you have not reached the limit of your usage, to check your exact balance we recommend you refer to your Ubigi application until Jaguar Land Rover solve the situation as they are working on the matter."

Same here, Both "Mobile Data" & "Wifi" not working now as of today !!

Pandemic splash-screen was removed over the weekend at some point

Are the two connected ??? maybe
