They also throw in "a free vehicle health check and a valet" For me, a service at any cost should involve them checking over the health of the vehicle!
I guess we're lucky to live in Switzerland where JLR provides the regular services (within the first three years or up to 100,000km) completely for free, including brakes. Just did the first service for our Velar. Dropped it off in the morning, was given a replacement Velar and picked up the car before the end of the day, cleaned and all at no cost whatsoever. Same happened for three years with our XF. Different story when we had the new 2016 model Volvo XC90 in between the XF and the Velar ... every service cost us in access of £600 and that car spent more time in the Volvo garage than the average mechanic.
Mine was £388 including a 10% 'new customer' discount at the impressive, relatively new Williams JLR dealership at Trafford Park, Manchester with the drive through servicing 😳

My car is due its 2 year service and has done 30k miles. I have just called my local JLR dealer and they have quoted me £650. Is this correct, as looking at what they will be doing it a bit higher than I was expecting?
- Carry out vehicle inspection checks as documented in the WSM instructions. Where available also perform an eVHC.
- Replace interior air filter.
- Renew engine oil and filter.
- Replace the air cleaner element.
- Replace fuel filter element.
- Carry out road test as documented in the WSM instructions.
- If fault lamp(s) are illuminated, interrogate that system using the JLR approved diagnostic equipment and report findings.
- Check for any applicable outstanding service actions or recalls.
- Report any unusual features of vehicle condition and additional work required.
- Reset service indicator.
- Endorse service record.
Managed to get it for £480 and they will use genuine JLR parts and also update the online service system. That's a saving of £170 from my original price from a main dealer, which is not to be sniffed at and also includes a courtesy car for the day.
When I had my second service in October 2020 I discussed taking a Service Plan with them (I purchased mine while consulting with JLR and benefiting from a sizeable discount).
The services alternate each year between minor (£400) and major (£600) with the details below:

Service Due: October 2021

Service 5: 80,000 miles / 60 months (minor)
