Probably the 19c update is referred to the "firmware" update and not "software", but i'm Just guessing from what I saw in their system, as you can see in the picture below "19C" is stated on the left while on the right is still saying "update needed"
Just had a call with my dealer and he commented that after upgrading a customer's Velar, voila! navigation, Bluetooth, all inside ictp stopped working or disappeared.
Be careful and make sure your are not the first ones in your dealer 😔
As per previous posts, I believe the hardware control units or CPU's or whatever you want to call the hardware is made by several different manufacturers for Land Rover. They might have been manufactured to different tolerances and there might well be different versions of the update all labelled the same depending on what hardware is in your car. My car was not accepting any updates and had to be replaced. Took 10 weeks and I was told one module alone costs in the region of £ 2,000, under warranty.
I think @loz is right about bits of hardware coming from various manufacturers and that is the nub of the issue. Before I get the dealer to take it back, my 2107 FFRR hadvthe infotainment unit replaces at a reported cost of £3,800. It fixed some faults but new ones appeared....yet other 2017 FFRR perform perfectly..just like our Velar really!
I had the "latest" update done this week and it ruined my USB functionality after the previous update had mostly fixed it. On the plus side, it seems to have completely eliminated any remaining lag I had; Both touchscreens and the steering wheel controls are all snappy now. Bluetooth is flawless, though album art is still hit or miss via Apple Music. USB playback still works fine, but I cannot control the screen at all while plugged in. It freezes instantly and I have to control music directly from the phone. The song info fails to update as well, so it never actually reflects what's playing. Looks like it's back to bluetooth for me.

Oh dear, that's very bad news! I've booked my car in to see what updates they find. Can you tell us what app version is shown in your display (as shown by another user above)?

This is all so ridiculously confusing and extremely shoddy. You would think "get my ictpd system up to date" would be a simple task. Really not looking forward to my visit to the dealer...
It is confusing indeed. We just got our second Velar, brand new, and still running the old software, not even 17C, the dealer telling me, there's no update available.
Yeh, that's the thing. Topix never seems to say there's an update available, but maybe that's because it's not a mandatory thing and the dealer has to go looking for it. Dealers seem to only want to do what Topix says is outstanding.
I was able to download software update for BMW WEBSITE to USB drive and then plug that USB drive to my X5 to update the software. Shame no such thing for Velar.

BMW software updates via USB are merely for Bluetooth phone connectivity so new phones are supported. BMW does not provide on air or via USB updates for any key systems for security reasons.
Presume on air updates are coming soon to all marquees once security architecture is in place.

Did you guys know that some dealers have a facility to do firmware updates at your place of work or home? Worth asking your dealers service department as I know Lookers West London (Park Royal) offer this service

Once having in front of you the menu "infotainment Master Controller" (which is under ECU diagnostic) you'd find on the right a button called something similar to "update to phase 3" and then you can start from there.
I'm attaching a picture I've taken, unfortunately it is in Italian but the path is clear, you can also read "avanti" on the top right which where you star the update process.

I'm in an ongoing battle with my dealer trying to get them to update my vehicle. They keep saying nothing is avaliable, and I keep telling them there is. I brought in a literal list of software issues, and they are adamant they have to reproduce every issue and work with tech line and there isn't just "one update". Getting frustrated. They had my car since yesterday...I'm telling them just to update the damn thing and they won't.

djmodifyd tell them the updates won't show up when they enter the VIN, because the update are not vehicle specific but model specific. I had the same problem.
