^ head tech at my dealer told me the latest software update for the Velar would be available from the 24th. So he was pretty much right. Said they delayed it as was bricking some units. Which they have sorted.
I use Spotify mainly and I don't really use TuneIn as they always have really low quality versions of the radio streams I like.
Haven't prodded around enough to see if I can login to my TuneIn account where I have custom streams.
From the looks of things this uses the SIM slot data connection to load data and stream so that will finally load some sort of burden on that 3 UK one year sim we were all buying!
Dang it. I was hoping this would be a final solution. I really just want USB to work, and voice commands for music, which I believe only work with USB. I really don't care about live services or in control apps, so looks like this may be enough to satisfy me though.
I had my car in for service on the 23rd and was told the update wasn't quite ready yet, so looks like I just missed it. I'll bring it back next month.
Ahhh, makes sense. Sorry, wasn't thinking logically then!! Deezer and Tunein are actual Apps on the car now, so would work independently of your phone. Light bulb has just come on!!!
"Also the song gets stuck on the screen whilst new songs come on and sometimes touch screen changing of media stops working."
I picked up my new Velar on Monday and I have this issue when using Amazon Music. It's happened a few time. I put it down to the fact that Amazon Musics is not officially integrated.......yet
Today same thing songs freeze on screen and sometimes the screens stop working
Audio distortion is minimal so far AND it hasn't failed to recognise the device so far (only been 24hrs).
However it's not fault free. Also tune in integration is very basic as I said early - also have no idea what stream quality it's playing for some of my radios I listen to - in the iOS app they stream at 32kbps which is really low.
Land Rover just released (today) an update to the Incontrol Apps for iPhone - claims bug fixes and support for iOS 11.2. I haven't had a chance to see whether this improves anything. I doubt I'll be getting the car software updated until my next service, so would be curious to see whether the combination of the new car software and the updated App fixes any of the ongoing issues.
Also noticed that i can change the sound in Audio Settings from Stereo to 2D to 3D - didn't have that option before (or maybe I did and didn't realise it was a selectable choice).
Here's a pic of a new error always coming up over USB with iPhone when you try and skip any playing track (Music, Spotify, VLC, etc).
Funnily enough don't get it over Bluetooth - which now shows Spotify track names and album artwork flawlessly - so someone has worked on the BT side of things - but clearly not as much on the USB side.

Lol, I guess I feel pretty lucky that mine has been fairly stable. I don't even care about usb that much and I hate the in control apps anyway, I just want album art and voice controls via bluetooth. Sounds like album art is remedied with this update; can any confirm the voice controls?
