Hey guys,
Just bought a second hand Velar a couple of weeks ago and thought it had apple car play - it's there in the menu, but can't work out how to connect. When I plug in phone it only gives me the opportunity to use the Incontrol app (which I've just got access to as previous owner was linked still).

Also, there's no menu section to allow me to do software updates. I've connected to my house's wifi, but nothing in the menu like it says in the help guides. Any idea before I take a trip to the local land rover dealer?

Yeah, it comes up with a screen saying "searching for available cars" but doesn't find it.

I think potentially there was an update they needed to do with the early cars that mine hasn't had? Might need to visit the dealer.

What software version are you on? If it's an old version it will be listed at the bottom of the Sat Nav settings.

That's quite old software, you need a dealer to update the software for you & then OTA updates will be available going forward (although I wouldn't expect too many, as most of the bugs have been fixed & they are now busy with Pivi Pro).

You can do map updates yourself from landrover.here.com Updates are released monthly & are free for the first three years. Looks like the previous owner didn't bother much.

Hi, I’ve noticed that many people are facing issues while updating the InControl infotainment and Vehicle software on their Velar, so I made a video on the same. You can watch it here (I’ve tried to cover all the issues one might face when installing OTA Software Updates):
