Re: New software update

We have the data limit splash screen - and I know for sure that the SIM is on a 20GB/month plan which we barely use. Looks like some form of bug (but good to know across the models) as i was about to request a replacement SIM. Not sure this has anything to do with 20A specifically as we have had thi...

Android Auto - Really?

I took the plunge finally and hooked up my Android Phone via the USB - and picked up Android Auto. I dont know what the fuss is about really - the screen is simpler but not as sophisticated as the native version, and the resolution is fuzzy. The text/reminder/calender apps are ok but I dont distrct ...

Re: starting using a jump start kit

When the dealership opens, book your car in for a battery condition check. In particular ask them to look at the recharge settings are correct. In my case, the battery had not been charging effectively because the setting was too low. Meaning the battery was not being re-charged until the battery a...

Re: Smelly AC

There is a bacterial growth in the AC ducts. This happens if [1] you dont use the AC for long periods of time or [2] if you only ever use it in recirculation mode and do not let fresh air into the system or [3] oddly if the weather is very damp and youve had the windows closed all the time. There a...

Re: Battery conversation tips

I have never used a trickle charger. The car has been parked for 4 weeks whilst we were on holiday, and lately for 3 weeks whilst on COVID lockdown; and it started without any issue.

Re: Car in main dealership

Tough luck, but these things happen during a service and to top it, these difficult times where the health and wellbeing of service staff is as critical as our own. Good thing you have a loaner and everything should be back to normal at the end of the lockdown. In the larger scheme of things, you an...

Re: Rejection Confirmed!

Have had a First Edition for 2 years now and have not had any problems, any small niggles were addressed by my dealer promptly. I cannot comment on JLR reliability from my own experience (or the accounts from folks on here) because it is not representative. But I will say the Velar is a very strong ...

Re: New Velar Problem

This is because the battery is drained. Close the boot manually, drive the car for a while, and you will notice the next time it is fine.

Re: Battery maintainer

Here in northern Italy, to contain the epidemic of the corona virus, the total block was ordered; I therefore parked my Velar in a box connected to a voltage maintainer. Those few allowed movements I will do with my second car. [OT] Allow me to suggest you not to wait for the official interventions...
