I think the key is to report your issues and ask them to fix them, rather than asking for a software update.
They will apply the latest software, as that’s the only option they have to rectify your problems.

Re: Massage seat noise, normal?

Oddly I noticed this recently, a mild whooshing sound if the massage seat was set at '5' (highest setting) in the 'Wave' program. Then realised I had my media system switched off. So I could hear every little tick. Wing mirror noise at speed? Who knew... I would not recommend getting anyone in a dea...

Re: Oil Leak & paint defects on bonnet

Now opened bonnet to give engine bay a wipe down and spotted some oil residues as seen in picture. You give your engine a wipe down!!! :D - mate, you give your engine bay a wipe down!!! (thought these engines were covered in plastic aprons!) Take some tissue or a kitchen towel and wipe the oil resi...

Re: Driving Mode & Economy

Wow - love the economy figures you folks can achieve. We do urban miles often under 30mph My wife usually potters about in ECO mode on the D300 and seems to achieve about 35 mpg (she has a heavy right foot, go figure!) When I get to drive her car, I am usually in comfort mode and this drops to 29 mp...

Re: Should I have a software update ?

There are several updates available. Presuming your car is within warranty, you are entitled to all at zero cost to you. My experience has been to avoid rushing in to get the latest update until some very smart people here report it is stable and ok. BUT there have been about 5 updates since and the...

Re: Defects and Damage

I am not sure you need to do a full PDI yourself ( so whereas there is an impressive list above, I would not stress.) If a PDI has been completed, and you find something amiss, the dealer will fix it. I have a First Edition (lots to go wrong as basically most options fitted!) and have had ZERO probl...

Re: Early!

I would just say dont go looking for problems where they may or may not exist. Forums though helpful and a great source of information and advice by their very nature tend to be skewed towards those that have had issues. There are many many owners out there who are just enjoying their vehicles with...

Re: Noises in the back / trunk

I’ve come from Audi’s too. This Velar is my first and last JLR car! Just sick of the Mickey Mouse build quality. I have 2 german cars - both bought from new and highly-specified. So you think you should get your ££ worth > One has had a misaligned driverside door trim I noticed almost immediately a...

Re: Phase 5 update now available

Per my 19A install post above, no issues before or after concerning reverse camera. The Air Suspension did randomly change settings before but stable now based on selected setting and ride appears consistent w each setting and ride height, etc.. I have driven over 150 miles since the above 19A inst...

Re: Phase 5 update now available

Known issue with reverse camera?
The air suspension issue ironed out?

I am still on 18C - not keen on any updates until the next main firmware update as recommended by my dealer
