Re: Best place to get a Velar

In a #justsaying sort of way, please don’t confuse the Cheapest place to get a Velar with the Best place to get a Velar. As you’ll have gathered from this forum, the cars are sometimes prone to be temprementall and could need a trip (or several) back to the dealer. This is where the quality of the d...

Re: So, what did you do with your Velar today ?

Not strictly today but yesterday, went to the supermarket and ended up taking a 15 mile detour on the way home just for the sheer pleasure of driving the car. Such a great car to drive and lovely environment to be in. Better than that, the app has now started showing journeys again, and even downloa...

Re: What will be your next car

Probably a Volvo V90 petrol. Or maybe an E class estate. I like the idea of electric but I don’t think that in18 months time (when I’m planning to change) the technology would have come on enough to give a 300+ mile range in “affordable” electric estate car. But when the next car is up for the chop,...

Re: Over the air update now workng

Indeed, according to the app I’ve not used the car since 7 December. Despite uninstalling the app , turning journeys on and off, bleating on the reviews page of the app.. “Every day is an adventure - "what is not working today"; perhaps this could be a thread in its own right.” This is a great idea!...

Re: Possible New Purchase

^^^^^This.

There are widely reported issues with the D300 (used in many JLR applications) if you only do short journeys. The dealer of course won’t tell you this.

Absolutely blown away by ours though😎 A bit thirsty round town but 40+ MPG without effort on long runs.

Re: Extended Warranty

Hard for me to say, I’ve never kept a car for the whole PCP period* ....but would definitely not want to run a Velar without a warranty...

* and probably won’t yet again 😱

Re: Great car, Loving it, however, missing some features....! esp Auto Hold, User upgrade of software,......

I think maybe the auto hold being queried might be similar to one I had on a couple of Mercs. With their system, in auto cars, once you come to a stop you give the foot brake another push and you can then take your foot off the brake and the car stays put, in gear, engine running (this was pretty st...

Re: Rare Velar Sightings

There’s a fair few round our way. But then again there’s a lot of JLR procduct in our neck of the woods. Proportionately though there are relatively few Velars compared to FF, RRS, Evokes and Discos. None of them seem to wave back though, even when the car is identical to mine (as in FE in Corris). ...

Re: heated seats

Another happy customer. Wonder if the seat material makes a difference, as my leather is quite “holey” Which will allow the heating elements to release heat easier.
