Re: Shocking customer service

It is poor but the problem dealers have is the service department is choked full. I Same dealership, my car needs engine stripped down or perhaps replaced due to faulty balancer shaft. Major fault and have to wait 1 month before loan car available so have to drive faulty car to end of January! Have...

Re: Rear Camera view

I might be going mad but I thought the rear view camera used to display in the same manner as the forward camera, ie without any distortion from the boot surrounding the screen. Now it displays like a peephole in your front door which is not so easy to use. How do others rear cameras display? Same ...

Are you booked in at Cupar?
Booked it in at Edinburgh, as far as I know engine needs to be removed and thought better to go to bigger garage.

Bit p**ssed off that it has only done 5,000 miles and engine needs to be stripped down.

Re: N128 - Balancer Shaft Whine

Had exactly the same problem with 240 engine after 7000 miles. Dealer had to replace balance shaft which is an engine out operation because JLR would not authorise a replacement engine due to cost cutting programme in place. Dealer had car for 8 weeks whilst they argued with JLR and when the engine...

N128 - Balancer Shaft Whine

Managed to get 5000 miles on the clock before getting this problem (N128 - Balancer Shaft Whine). Listen carefully to engine when accelerating and if you hear a whine then get it looked at. They think they can fix it but have heard of engines getting replaced. They are letting me drive it for 4 week...

Re: Phase 5 update now available

Pentland Edinburgh installed 18D for me yesterday with Carplay. Incontrol still crashes, but Carplay seems to be working so far. Interestingly, the salesman said this was phase 4 update, and if I want incontrol apps fixed, I would have to wait until phase 5 which won't be available until January. S...

Re: Phase 5 update now available

I’m not overly bothered about car play, I just want software that works and LR seem completely incapable of doing that. Pentland Edinburgh installed 18D for me yesterday with Carplay. Incontrol still crashes, but Carplay seems to be working so far. Interestingly, the salesman said this was phase 4 ...

Auto Headlights Can Lead To Trouble

When following some cars the auto headlights just don't work properly. Tonight while following a Seat with LED rear lights the Velar headlights got very confused and kept going on high beam. Luckily I was not recording sound as I was swearing a lot and found it very embarrassing. The car stopped and...

Camera Setting - Confused

When going into camera when stationary I see that the camera has a “wide angle” view. When actually reversing the view is not wide angled.

What is the point of having wide angle when stationary? Can it be set to show wide angle when reversing?
