Re: Whistling/whining noise on start up.

My money is on the balancer shaft. I got 6,000 miles on mine before they went. Major job with engine out but now back on the road and fingers crossed. They are repairing these on a regular basis now so don't ignore engine whine (which sounds like turbo). Hello Mac, How frequent was the noise on you...

Re: Best dash cam for a Velar?

Have the dash cam fitted next to mirror, I don't even notice it is there when driving.

Have Nextbase dash cam fitted at Halfords, hardwired into fuse box .

Neat job and no wires showing.

Re: Filler plug

Sorry, but this post has really cheered me up this morning.

“Beside the tyre pressure plate” was what creased me up.

I suppose it is like Catchphrase, it’s obvious when someone gives you the answer.

Journeys switched off when in workshop

When car in workshop I noticed that Journeys were turned off on the Land Rover app meaning that I am unable to track car. I am not really bothered and not going to turn it on so they think I am spying. I am wondering if I have inadvertently turned this off or can this be disabled by dealers when in ...

Re: Phase 5 update now available

Mine is in workshops yet again for repair.

I am still scheduled to get Apple CarPlay installed and when I asked today about 19a and if it could now be installed I was told that no software was being updated on any cars just now as Land Rover has stopped dealers due to issues.

Still waiting.......

Re: Whistling/whining noise on start up.

According to the engineer, it's definitely the balancer shaft bearings going. He said I can continue to drive so I will, until the engine explodes. Will stop them botching the repairs :D :D :D I drove mine for 1 month before they took in for repair. It is a big job with engine out. Here is the part...

Re: Whistling/whining noise on start up.

Here is the bulletin.
Don't pay any attention to the VIN numbers as it could affect ANY Ingenium diesel engine. My car did not come within the range (Velar 2.0L 240S, June 2018)

Mine was noticeable at around 2000 rpm

Re: Phase 5 update now available

Got mine updated this week to Version: S18D_18.47.5-269316

Dealer not allowed to instal/activate Apple Car Play as JLR has pulled latest version as it has caused problems. They have been trying to install it into my car for around 6 month

Maybe next time!
