Re: SatNav map updates

Works fine on my Mac which can format a USB stick correctly (FAT32) with Disk Utility (part of MacOS). There was a bug a few versions back of the LR download software that caused issues but that’s now fixed. Yes I know MacOS is built on UNIX and came from an adaptation of the NeXT OS. I worked at A...

Re: SatNav map updates

Doesn't work with Linux (Ubuntu flavour tested). It needs to download and install the app, but cant.

So guess they made it Mac compatible if raven14 has used it. And it is Win10 compatible, if you use a FAT32 formatted USB drive (max size is still unknown), but Linux, nope.. Not surprised.

Re: SatNav map updates

Just use a 64GB stick. Works fine. If you read, you'll see that is what I have done.. The issue is if the 64GB stick is NOT FAT32 formatted, as it has to be to work. But I have posted how to resolve that, if you have a Win10 pc and as such can no longer format FAT32. (my 3rd post above). Luckily, I...

Re: Curious to know about upgrade extras through software.

Not sure either, but would agree on the LED's not being multi coloured as standard, but I wouldn't call them "mood" lighting either. One "add-on" I got from a recent s/w update, which I NEVER paid for as it was a £300 option at the time was Apple Play. But since the last update, I now have Apple Pla...

Re: SatNav map updates

After 3 1/2 hours of downloading maps to the USB drive it took tad over 20 mins to install in the Velar. Which is a pain, as the Velar engine has to be running all the time to avoid the power saving feature shutting it down. Which means sitting in the car, as you cant lock it with the keys in it. Yo...

Re: SatNav map updates

Well managed to force a FAT32 format and now running the InControl download tool. WHY, do you get forced to download the EUROPE & Russia maps. Its going to take hours, to download, when I'll never drive outside of the UK. Why cant you select the Maps you want to download. Its barmy.. If I could have...

SatNav map updates

Has anyone else had problems updating the Maps with InControl. My maps kept saying they where out of date, so deiced to update them. Used InControl to download maps to a USB drive, which took forever. Then went to load onto the car, and followed the instructions. Got a warning that Old maps will be ...

Re: Adblue...

Great link and I can see the adblue is free with service plans. Unfortunatelyi don’t have a service plan, as the dealer was extremely reluctant to sell me one.

Seeing the JLR price for a top up, I’ll be buying some and doing it myself.

Cheers all, for great info.

Re: Adblue...

Thanks guys... Sorry not been online for a while. First, yep the remote app and the Dashboard has warned me about replacing AdBlue in 1400 miles. That will mean I achieved abut 8k miles before needing to refill. I didn't know it wont start, so I'd better get some sorted. I have been checking and not...

Adblue...

Ok, being lazy here, as sitting by the computer.. But anyone know how often (per miles) you should add Adblue to the Velar. And does it tell you with a message that it needs to be topped up, before it runs out... Also, if you do run out, and you run the car. Is that bad for the engine. Again, though...
