Re: Paint Protection Film

Xpel have special Velar kit. Price sounds right. IMO too high to justify it where I live. I can get it repainted for less, not to mention the insurance covers fixes. But mine is matt, no microscratching to worry about.

Re: Wheel/Rim Sizing

21" on air, no issues, there is nothing harsh. 22", same car, gets mich harder, and you'd have to keep them at higher pressure to avoid damage. Also it gets jumpy even in comfort mode. IMO 21-inch is the sweet spot if you want looks and performance, plus there are sime tyres with wheel protector. I ...

Re: New to Velar - Long term RR Sufferer

It's a great car. The Velar drives great on mountain roads too, just do not stay with the 22" wheels if you paln to ever return to Eastern Europe :D

Re: Android Auto - Really?

Do the FE's not have Android Auto? Obviously depends on the market, but it is not clar from the said market pages, so it's confusing. Turns out if you don't have HDMI and SIM card, there won't be AA. Which was not clear from the announcement they are adding AA retroactively. Mine is 2017, got it fr...

Re: Android Auto - Really?

I won't mind if I only get it through USB. First edition no SIM/HDMI.or even if they tell me I have to pay couple of hundred to get hardware update module. After all, a new phone costs a few. But hard NO is not what I expect for 120k model 2017-2018 car...

Re: Range Rover Velar?

Hi Syodarga, Not sure what you mean by the “new” Velar? May be the SVA? It sure looks really different, to the point I like it... as a separate car. I mean I love it, It's just beautiful (especially in the matte Byron blue), just don't feel it's the same model by looking at it, it lost so much of i...

Pulling the trigger - installing Velar SVA/ F-Pace SVR front brakes on my D300. Some other tuning questions remain

Some history: If there is one thing I hate about our Velar, it's the brakes. The rusty blocks are nagging at me even when I sleep and they constantly draw my eyes to them when looking at my otherwise near perfect car. As my wife said - once you've seen them, you cannot unsee them. And they have thi...

Re: Biggest mistake ever made!

Many thanks for all the advice, folks!! Much appreciated. Quick update: guy at our JLR dealer/garage took one look, took a cloth and some wax, rubbed an affected part for 30 seconds, shook his head and said, “Aiaiaiaiii, we need to repaint all the affected panels.” I asked him whether machine polis...

Re: Biggest mistake ever made!

Just go buy yourself a polisher and midcut/fine paste, you would fix it in no time. I did all my black parts with a cordless screwdriver, pads and paste in a day (needed to charge the battery and shed some sweat), first time I ever used polisher. My paint is matte and it seems much easier to clean w...

Re: One thing

The V6 may be more hungry when you are doing mostly city driving and when you press it hard.
