Re: SatNav map updates

Well done for persevering. It always takes two attempts for me to download and install. The other tip is not to use ACP while installing the maps. For me this always causes the install to crash.

Re: UBIGI SIM....it works but haven’t registered

The prices to top up are stupid as well. If you run out (it renews monthly) then get a Three data SIM and use that in between.

Re: UBIGI SIM....it works but haven’t registered

I bought an ex LR managment car and have never registered the Ubigi SIM to me. It just works. It’s never run out either so just continue to use it. Do new Velar owners have to register an account or does it only need registering if you want to go over the monthly limit ? I needed to register mine t...

Re: UBIGI SIM....it works but haven’t registered

Welcome!

You get 36 months free so it will just continue to work. If you go over the 500MB a month it would stop working and likely message the previous owner to let them know but I’m guessing they wouldn’t top it up for you ;)

Not sure how you go about re-registering it though.

Re: reading texts

Have you tried updating your phone to the newest iOS? Could be a long wait if JLR need to update their software.

I’m on 19C in the car and 13.3.1 iOS and it reads my texts OK.

Re: Turning over but not firing on first start-up in the morning (Long Read)...

Amazing pictures! You live in a great part of the world! I use to switch between winter and summer types on a 3 series BMW I had. The winter tyres were so good! I always thought they were a con but you could feel the difference in them. Have considered them for the Velar being “down south” but maybe...

Re: Qi wireless phone charger for center console

Standard as far as I know. Lift the catch at the front & they will slide forward to cover the cup holders (but leaves an ugly gap at the back IMHO, so best to go with the cup holder cover & leave the armrest at its rearmost position). This is why I love this forum! Had no idea this was possible and...

Re: Qi wireless phone charger for center console

The wired version looks good/useful!

Out of interest, in the pictures for the wireless version it shows and states the armrest will slide... I wasn’t aware the Velar armrests slide? Was/is this an optional extra?
