Re: CarPlay and iOS14
Just a general observation, not CarPlay specific: USB is seriously botched in the vehicle software. Doing map updates while playing music over the iPhone (non-CP), stops the music, and crashes the entire USB connection to the iPhone to the point that I need to restart the vehicle. Also, from time to...

Re: Sat Nav logout
That is total BS. Hate to say it, but mine has never logged me out, since fall of 2019.

Nothing, they don't drive the car. They sit in front of a computer simulating the screens.

Re: Why I'm not concerned about JLR's poor reliability performance in the Which Magazine 2020 Review
Agree, for the most part. Here's my $.02: 1) Comparing my RRS to my wife's Hyundai Level 3 plus: ICTP has no features the Hyundai doesn't have, too. Perhaps apart from "configurable ambient lighting". So, that "more features, more issues" assessment is somewhat moot when it comes to infotainment. De...

Re: Iphone connection drops
OS13 is no good for music playback in JLR cars. Even in "None"-(read: dumb iPod)-mode it sucks. It randomly stops at song ends, the wheel buttons for advancing to the next song lag >=1-2 secs, it takes forever to start when connected at car start, and the whole thing feels terribly sluggish. I now h...

Re: Velar P250 Horrible Engine Problems
There is an official field service action for this fan problem called N451. It consists of a software update for the powertrain control module. Contact your dealer, all I4 2.0 Ingenium engines are subject to this.

Re: New software update
Has anyone noticed that the park assist "auto-search" feature (the blue "P" icon on the dash) keeps turning itself off constantly since 20A? If I enable it (in the "Driver assist" instrument cluster menu), it stays enabled for the current cycle, but in the next cycle, after going 30km/h/18mph once, ...

Re: New software update
This error is happening worldwide, with all providers, all JLR models, all software versions. My guess is an expired certificate and the actual error message being some default for uncaught exceptions. Won't necessarily work again by June 1st, but probably as soon as some JLR bloke returns from home...

Hi, I have not installed that version yet, so I can't answer your question. But could you perhaps make a picture of the issue?

Re: Engine fan running most of the time
It very probably will. For those you have to wait for the pump to be replaced, and absolutely need the car, check your coolant level. Refill to max if required, this will keep the fan off for longer periods of time. (Do this when the engine is cold, and be careful when unscrewing the filler cap.) My...
