Re: Fuel consumption P300

Looking at the remote app, I had over 30 mpg on a recent 18 mile journey (average speed checks most of the way).

On shorter journeys it usually reads anywhere between 10-20 mpg.

I drive in S most of the time and tend to put my foot down at every opportunity though.

Re: New Build Questions - Dealer not terribly helpful

4. I’m getting the 21” satin grey 1033 wheels and the suggested the black locking nuts in the wheel protection kit. Do you think this is necessary and do you chrome would look better with the Satin black rims? I have those wheels with the regular wheel nuts and they look fine, they don't stick out ...

Re: Retrofit Folding Mirrors

I'm not sure, but topix shows that all mirrors share the same wiring connector: mirror.jpg The functionality seems to be controlled through software: Each door module is attached to the closing panel in the related door and connected to the door harness. The Driver Door Module (DDM) and the Passenge...

Re: Possible New Purchase

Only reasons to go for a D300 would be for towing or regular long-distance driving.

The P300 engine has impressed me so far, it's not a V6 but it's still noticeably faster and more nimble than the D300, probably because the D300 weighs about 145 kg more.

Re: Engine Knock/Low Fuel Pressure

Update: Engine problem was diagnosed as a faulty coil pack on one cylinder which was replaced under warranty. 1 cylinder not firing does seem to explain the engine shake and the faint smell of unburnt petrol form the exhaust. Fuel lines were all inspected and no issues were detected so the low fuel ...

Re: Left steering wheel control buttons

Mine was also replaced whilst the car was being looked at.

Never had a problem with it must be a fairly common fault if they are replacing them en masse.

Re: Oyster leather cleaning

The wipes won't provide enough agitation to clean the threads.

Pick up a good leather cleaner like Colourlock or a good all purpose interior cleaner like GTechniq I2 and use a leather brush to scrub (gently).

Re: Engine rough on start

I would suggest calling out LR assist to take a look and see if they can read out a fault code. I had a similar issue with engine knock but it only happened twice and it can't be reproduced. LR assist checked the engine over and saw that there was a low fuel pressure warning logged. It's being inves...

How To: Rear Bumper Double Exhaust Upgrade

I think a few people have asked about this in the past, certainly very interesting:

Also made me realise how dull my exhausts have become.
