Re: Few Velar Points

Had 18d installed let week. Two main issues fixed - remembering ambient lighting across driving modes and Apple CarPlay working after remote start up. These work now. Only thing left to test is: - lower screen doing some funny unplanned things. Will need drive time to see if it’s now stable - rear c...

Re: Smartphone Pack/Apple Car Play, Experts?

When you say "use the features I like there" - am I right in assuming that the phone feature will just take you back to the ACP home screen? I use ACP but it would be better if: - the horizontal base menu layout was displayed underneath the ACP screen so you could revert to functions like LR Sat Nav...

Rear Camera view

I might be going mad but I thought the rear view camera used to display in the same manner as the forward camera, ie without any distortion from the boot surrounding the screen. Now it displays like a peephole in your front door which is not so easy to use. How do others rear cameras display? Same o...

Re: 5,000 more jobs to be cut at JLR

Does anyone else on here think that as well as the China downturn, demonisation of Diesels and Brexit, JLR’s fall from grace is ALSO due to poor build quality on recent models and less than inspiring customer service? I read their turnaround plan sponsored by their CEO Mr Speth and out of 70 odd Pow...

Go to settings and connectivity, then Apple CarPlay.

Should have an option to select auto launch.

I thought it was a bit odd but the dealer was pretty convincing. Of course they’re not all the same gearboxes as car reviewers will tell you. They nearly all report that JLR’s gear boxes are superior than the Germans (see Whatcar view of new Q8 and Matt Watson’s RRS vs Audi Q8 - they both slam the A...

Re: Great car, Loving it, however, missing some features....! esp Auto Hold, User upgrade of software,......

They shouldn’t roll back. All fitted with Hill Hold Assist as standard. I agree on the Auto Hold omission. Using the e-park brake is a work around but prevents stop/start working which is not efficient and slightly annoying. An Audi dealer told me recently that it’s because JLR have different gear b...

In have the same experience. It took me a while to figure out that people are right about the HUD graphics being crisp and clear because the zig zag lines make it fuzzy for me....

Heated Front Windscreen issue

Hi, Anyone got a heated front windscreen? If so, do you find when driving at night that the lights on other cars cars in front of you are blurred by the zig zaggy heating lines that run vertically down the windscreen? Also, the HUD graphics are also slightly blurred by them. I find it annoying. Unle...
