Re: SOTA / 19b

There is no software update to enable SOTA, you already have the software installed. It’s just not enabled at the LR end. They can enable it remotely without you needing to go to the dealer. Service or otherwise. What they should be saying is LR have told dealers to enable SOTA for any Velar that c...

Re: SOTA / 19b

My car is in for its annual service today. Without me asking them, they said they would perform a software update to enable SOTA so I guess this is being rolled out to all vehicles as they come in for service. I'm currently on 19A4, so will see whether 19B is installed when I collect the car.

Re: Is there a fool-proof way to make ACP work?

One more thing that may help - in the connectivity section in the settings menu on the car, make sure ACP is set as the default option for Apple devices so it will automatically fire up when you connect your phone.

Re: Phase 5 update now available

No on both counts. My car was at the dealer last month and I was told by the service manager that SOTA was not available (despite me getting 19A from 18D via SOTA earlier this year thanks to a fellow forum member activating the push). Seems hit and miss who gets the software update pushed to their c...

Re: Auto Start/Stop

I assume the default modes (auto stop/start on and the comfort setting on vehicle startup) cannot be automatically turned to something different to meet emissions standards. Agree it would be nice to have more control over this.

Re: Extreme Body Roll / Sway

I have the P250 with coils and the behavior you mention is definitely not normal (and sounds dangerous in fact). I would get your suspension checked and make sure components like the dampers have not failed.

Re: Solar Attenuating Windscreen....

Standard on US spec cars so mine has it. It helps somewhat with heat from the sun. Can’t comment on noise since I haven’t driven a Velar without it. Obviously a little more sunny out in California vs the UK so more justified here. There are specific areas at the top near the mirror to attach RF devi...

Re: Software Update

According to the release notes, 19A updates through A4 will not resolve crackling/popping issues. They are at least recognized now as an issue by JLR. https://www.ovalnews.com/2019/08/incontrol-touch-pro-19a4-version-s19a_19-24-2-375121-release-notes.html Supposedly a fix will be coming with a more ...
