This is odd and worrying. Horrible for the people affected.

Wivenoe's contact was told that JLR haven't fully sorted a fix.
Previous posts have suggested it is software (e.g. Steveb75).

Richard K's JLR technician says it's a belt tensioner.
Or is it cheap & nasty belts?

Do JLR really know the cause and cure?
Again, if you think it's safety related then report it to go.uk 'report a serious safety defect'.
If they get enough complaints they may put pressure on JLR.

I'm a little bit worried!
I use the car for my job and it wuold be a serious problem not to reach the destination!

But I'm reading different opinions about the engines affected:
it's only a D200 problem or there are also D300 with the broken belt?

I've 16k km and, till now, all is ok. I hope I'll be lucky!
