Main problem with Ingenium 180/240 engine is still balance shaft bearings which cause whine which gets unbearable,turbo and waterpump issues. 68 and 19 plate vehicles are still having balance shaft issues which does not seem to have been rectified yet at the manufacture stage even after 5 years since this wonder engine appeared in the Jaguar XE. Our first 240 Velar suffered balance shaft problems and due to poor backup from JLR the car was off the road for 10 weeks being fixed under warranty.
It seems that the V6 300 engine is the most reliable and least problematic.
