It is as simple as the title says. I've checked the P300 and P250 engines on SE trim, on a 49 month plan with 6k miles per annum and:

- P250 SE: £29,900
- P300 SE: £29,826

Specked a D180 and P250 for exact the same price and the 36 month leasing of the P250 was 80 EUR more per month.

Starting to think the P300 is vapourware...so they are trying to dissuade people ordering it!

They've stretched themselves quite thin putting it in the Velar and now Disco, RRS and FFRR so maybe the shortage is real.
