Hello together,

just posted this in another thread top:
it has been quite a while - but has the problem been solved for anyone of you? I've done everything I can think of, but till today I still have crackling.
This issue is seriously driving me crazy… lost hope that it will be fixed someday

I'm also experiencing the intermitant crackling speaker issue on my 3 month old Velar P400e with Meridian Signature Audio. Issue appears to be localised to the drivers side rear passenger speaker. Car has been into the dealers once who have updated the audio software without success, although car has been returned with a series of new errors including a new "acoustic warning tone not functional" on the dash and the complete loss of sounds to both passenger side speakers. Dealership have told me they have raised a case with JLR who will provide "replacement modules" (car is booked in for April 22!) and if that doesn't work its then another request to JLR for replacement hardware (speaker and/or amp). I'll update as things progress to a full resolution hopefully.

I had a number of issues with the Meridian 3D system in my MY21 P400e.

In my case I had more a ‘rustling’ sound from what appeared to be the rear speakers. The dealer thought it was an issue with the amp and replaced it - the rustle is still there but more liveable with now. This issue is the same effect you used to get on cheap radios with the volume turned up too far. The problem was that the noise persisted even after the rear speakers were disconnected So having discounted the speakers and changing the amp there doesn’t seem to be a way of overcoming it.

JLR initially refused permission for the dealer to replace the amp. I therefore asked a specialist about replacing the Meridian system and he said it couldn’t be done. In trying to sort this I contacted Meridian and they politely told me that everything is down to JLR as they don’t provide the hardware, JLR has it made by others and Meridian just design and give their name, so it’s badge engineering to provide a cheap system with a respected name !

The other issue I got occasionally is a very loud almost screeching sound which is over everything and cannot be turned off. It lasted for up to a minute and I also got the “acoustic warning“. The dealer agreed with me that it looked like these issues were probably related to the sound cancelling system. I have not had these issues since the car updated to version 3.0.

Crackling Issue is still there on my Velar which is currently on its 3rd visit to Stratsone JLR to fix the issue. First visit was a software update (not fixed - i'm running version 3.1 of pivi pro currently), second was booked for a speaker audio module replacement where upon collection I was informed by the dealership that another software update had been applied by a passing Jaguar Land Rover "tech whizz" and the issue was now fixed (issue was still there on start up the following morning!), car was rebooked, videos of the issue have been sent to the dealership (twice now) so that they can formally raise a warranty repair/replacement of components (amp/speaker/whole meridian signature system) with JLR, feels a little like i'm being given the run around with no end to the issue seemingly in sight, so i may be left with a handback as the only option at this point.
