Rear light cluster seal

Post by Andy S » Thu Aug 30, 2018 10:28 am

Hi,

Does anyone else have this 'feature' on their velar. This is from a new vehicle not yet accepted.
There is a gap between the bodywork and the seat in the boot where the light cluster is.
The gap is quite large, the seal is not good and tight, and I am concerned about water ingress.

Dealer first reaction is 'its normal'.
Looked at another velar and it was present but not as bad.
Looked at an 18 plate and one side was sealed good, and the other had a small gap.

Tolerance issue? Is this on all cars?

Open the boot/tailgate, and the there is a seal which runs around the left and right hand side, and also is supposed to seal with the light clusters

thanks. i looked at another one at the weekend and it was perfect.. sealed both sides, and the seal was flush.. could be a tolerance issue with the cars..
