Center Touchscreen Damage

Post by Andyvelar » Fri Feb 01, 2019 6:56 pm

Has anyone else experienced this damage to the lower area of the lower centre screen, there appear to be a couple of cracks below the surface.
They seem to have appeared after the colder weather and I wonder if they are some sort of fastening pulling away.
You can't feel anything on the surface and nothing has been dropped on it,

I thought I saw the right hand on some time ago, then the second one has just appeared.

I will take it into the dealer next week to see what they have to say

No and it hit -28c/-20f with the wind chill here yesterday. Hopefully your dealer will agree it’s a warranty problem

I have just searched the web as I have had this very issue in my D240 S. I had four of these circles appear on the same screen.

I noticed it on the drive home from a ski holiday where the car has been for a week. Temps of -6C.

I have called the dealership and they said they hadn’t heard of this problem.

I’ve just gone to take a picture of it to post here and they are no longer there. It’s now 10C. It must be a temperature issue, it’s got to go in anyway for another issue but will still keep an eye on it.

I think they may be temperature dependant as their appearance does change according to the weather conditions, that is why I took the picture as proof to the dealer.
On using the car today they were barely noticeable and you would not see them if you did not know they were there.
The car is booked in for a replacement screen on the 11th March, I will ask for a software update as well, is there anything I should be aware of?

Mine has been in the Alps for two days and is showing what's looks like two bubbles on the left edge and top edge.
It's not been much below freezing so I'm assuming it's the atmosphere causing it.
I didn't notice it last month when I was in the same place and it was -15c so don't think it temperature related.

I had this. Not sure if it was water, or the screen separating from the top cover. Warranty replacement, no questions asked.

My centre screen has cracked today, a line on the inside. No can’t feel the crack on the outside. There has never been and damage to it so can only assume it’s the cold weather.
