Problem adding my Velar to inControl account

Post by Pdex » Thu Aug 09, 2018 6:43 pm

I've setup incontrol account. But I cannot add car to the account and mobile Remote App is not working.
Anyone has the same problem?

I believe your supplying dealer should have activated the VIN number of your Velar for Incontrol Remote. I would personally start by following this up with whoever sold you the vehicle.

Supplying dealer will register Your cars VIN number for incibtrol remote etc.

One bit of advice.

Check every mm/ inch of the car inside and out. Check every button to ensure what it controls works as intended. Take the car out for a test drive to ensure it drives okay. Look for fit and finish issues.

Check that the car has all the latest software/ firmware.

Once you sign on the dotted lines and take delivery Uou pretty much have no realistically enforceable rights to reject the car if serious issues are discovered.

On handover I was told by sales person when something did not operate as expected “would I like to book it in to service department for them to have a look at it?”. Brand new car with faults.

11 months of ownership and car still not fixed despite 16 weeks/ 4 months at dealer in three separate visits!

Great car apart from JLR etc.

I wouldn’t worry

Delivery issues are rare, though often reported !!!!

They are great cars
Just make sure everything works
The headlights don’t have cracks or chips near the edges
Then enjoy

The dealer should have activated the VIN with land rover
I got the email with setup details from landrover a few days before my Velar was delivered
So i was able to remote track my car all through the dealer prep
Thankfully the only journey they made was to the petrol station to fill it up

I leave in Brazil, and, although may Velar P250 SE has all the "hardware", the Incontrol Remote is not available for use. Even the wifi and 3g are not available.
JLR costumers service says it will only unlock those functions after "homologation" for use in Brazil. Is there anything like Carly (www.mycarly.com) to JLR? So I can unlock them by my self. It is unbelievable to spend so much in a car (specially in Brazil) and can´t use those nice functions.
Thanks in advcance.

My issue isn't exactly the same as the original post.

Dealer added my car to Incontrol before handover and i immediately got an email asking me to complete the set up which i did. Once this was done, these are the thing i've noticed so far:

1. The Incontrol remote mobile app has been showing wrong location of my car since i picked it up.
2. When i check the web/desktop version of Incontrol, there's a bit under the "live" tab (bottom right hand corner) where it says "primary user hasn't logged in from the vehicle" - How do i do this?
3. As we speak, the app has been constantly trying to update location of my vehicle but with no success. Its showing last update as 2hours ago. It also says my car is unlocked which isn't the case.
4. No. 3 above was noticed after i set up incontrol navigation in the car. One thing i noticed with this though is it seems to be a different account from the incontrol account the dealer set up for me and that i have on my mobile. Is this right? This one prompts me to login to this webpage: "https://account.here.com/sign-in"

Its all a bit confusing and any help will be greatly appreciated.
