Land Rover Experience

Post by Spencerwilks » Thu Oct 15, 2020 8:26 pm

Spent an excellent afternoon at the Solihull driving experience track courtesy of JLR as part of the buying process. Adventure zone,Land Track, renowned Jungle Track and Water wading with a very skilled instructor anxious to make sure the full programme was an enjoyable experience which indeed it was. The 3.0 D Velar provided had all the toys to achieve the full capabilities of the vehicle in the various terrain of the course. Just pleased that I didn’t have to clean the very muddy Velar at the end of the afternoon.

Recently went on a defender taster there, great staff and great tracks. Can’t wait to get back.

Can I ask, was the instructor in the vehicle with you or were you in convoy?

We were in convoy in identical Velars with radio contact with Jolene the instructor. There were frequent stops when she would come out of her Velar and talk to me to check on progress and discus the next task.

Its a great experience. We went April ‘19 at the Solihull track. I took a Velar around it because I wanted to change my Evoque (which I eventually did this year).
Ive got another experience to book now and Im told Eastnor is a fantastic track. I think I’d like to take the new Defender.

The general consensus among JLR dealers (and their Experience crews) is the Eastnor circuit is by far the best. Its the oldest in their company, is still used as a proving track for development features, and is such a fantastic mix of terrains. It tends to be booked up - so factor in a wait - and there are lots of drivers who go back again (cough).
