Wish list for next time...

Post by Fluke » Wed May 16, 2018 5:24 pm

This post is just for fun... no question, just posting things.

I bought off of dealer lot so did not choose my options but clearly was ok with what choice I had. But here’s some wish list and ‘not needed’ items for me.

Wish list:
  • Trailer tow package/hitch - not really to tow... more for bike rack... and maybe to tow something in future. I realize I can get cross bars and roof bike rack but would rather have hitch based bike rack
  • Activity Key - still have no idea if this can be added easily
  • Cooled back seats - not currently available but I do care enough about my passengers to get it if available next time. I’m in Florida so I’m sure you can appreciate the empathy I have for the peeps in the back seat
  • Carpathian Grey - love this color but no longer available for Velar... had my chance
  • R-Dynamic black pack
Don’t need/want but have it:
  • sirius radio - had a while ago, not needed with streaming options today and have never used on this vehicle.
  • opening sun roof - doesn’t open far enough to matter and rarely use. I like the glass but don’t need to open it
  • rose gold accents - you know what I mean 8-)
Really enjoy having:
  • P380 engine
  • R-Dynamic
  • air suspension
  • full TFT display - speedo/nav/tach - love love love the nav in middle of TFT
  • pretty much everything else
Again, just sharing my thoughts and maybe this will help someone decide what to choose on an order.

I ordered mine, so I got exactly what I wanted..though I ordered sight unseen before launch, and would've changed a couple things .

Wish list:

- R-Dynamic black pack
- 21" 10-spoke wheels in satin dark grey vs the 20" 10-spoke I have now.

Don’t need/want but have it:

- Nothing. I like everything I have.

Really enjoy having:

- Narvik Black
- R-Dynamic
- TFT driver display
- Upgraded Meridian
- Cooled seats
- Eclipse/blue leather
- Extended leather interior (such a major difference....every Velar should have this)

Wow @spokenhands, we could be brothers from a different mother!

My FE wish list etc is almost identical to yours, and I’m a bit suprised some of the wish list bits aren’t on as standard on the FE

Wish List
1. 4-zone Climate Control
2. Laminated windscreen to reduce noise/Solar glare
3. TV tuner

Don't need/can't be bothered
1. Leisure Activity Key - a bit meh
2. Ambient Lighting
3. Park Assist (never successfully used this yet!)

Really enjoying
1. Meridian Signature 1600W audio system
2. Heated Steering Wheel
3. Heated and Cooled Front Seats, Heated Rear Seats
4. Gesture Tailgate
5. Keyless entry
6. Adaptive cruise control with stop and go feature

Fix in the MY2020 facelift
1. Soft plastics on A/B/C/D pillars that mark easily
2. Nappa leather seats (quilted a la S class Merc)
3. More storage underfloor in luggage area (how about space under floor for a warning triangle?)
4. Standard fit cover for the exposed bit in front of the arm rest (after market one available via this forum is excellent and finishes things off nicely)

In some of the promotional material on the accessories page, I see the centre arm rest on the front covering the two front cup holders. Have not known this to slide forward but evidently it does individually - left and right hand. Interesting.

Fluke, if you don't have it, you need to add Head-Up Display to your wish list. It is incredibly useful, especially when using navigation.
