Why De Badge

Post by Dorset Val » Wed Sep 26, 2018 10:22 pm

Why do owners want to De Badge? I can see the reason if you are having the vehicle wrapped but is it for security.

Cleaner lines and perhaps not wanting to shout about what engine/spec they have.

I don't want to de-badge, but if I did it would only be because I am poor/cheap and bought an R-Dynamic D180 SE and don't want anyone to know.....
Oops, the secret is out :-)

I de-badged partly for the cleaner look & partly to encourage any low life's on the look out for a high-spec RR to look elsewhere (same reason I have a 55 plate on car). If it has been an option I would have declined the Range Rover lettering too.

I have a D300 hse but I debadged because of ease of cleaning. Sadly only removed the engine spec, wish I could have removed more. Really hate cleaning around the 'range rover' letters especially the ones on the bonnet. Haven't been brave enough to remove them ... yet.

What’s the best way to remove the engine badge?

Hairdryer and scraper tool?

I've only ever ordered my car debadged. Badges are cringe.

I'm also going down the whole de badge line as I don't think I need to tell everyone what spec I have...now I'm going for the 300D HSE so nothing to hide but its looks so clean without & lets be honest its a little bit of advertising either for you or the car maker IMHO

Having said that I would (I'm already think of ways to make the black RANGE ROVER at the rear become Grey!)
(69) D300 HSE / R Dynamic Black Pack / Eiger Grey with black contrast roof & black gloss 9007 22" Alloys / Fixed Pano roof / Priv Glass / 360 camera / Heated Steering Wheel & the normal HSE goodies!

There are other reasons (as mentioned above), but in most cases it is to hide the fact that you didn't choose the right engine. Just like fitting fake twin exhausts... :)
