Silver or dark alloys with Corris?

Post by gazb84 » Sat Nov 03, 2018 4:04 pm

Seeing as I am now going down the Corris route, what are your thoughts on the standard R Dynamic SE grey wheels?

Does anyone agree that the silver coloured wheels suit the car better? The darker ones or black gloss ones look a bit lost on the car when you spec it in on the LR website.

I love the standard rims in grey, black looses the details in alloys so I’m never a fan really and the silver ones just look too standard and boring. I’d stick with the grey on grey.

The grey, black or diamond cut two tones work very well
The silver ones look very bland

As a personal choice I think 21” is the smallest acceptable, 20s and below just diminish the car

Ive got the standard grey 20” wheels coming with mine, also Corris Grey . I’ve been worried since ordering that I should have spec’d differrent wheels but I saw one a few weeks ago in the flesh and I’m happy they suit the car and the colour.

Out of those 3 photos the second one looks the best but that’s not Corris is it? (Looks like the premium metallic?)

I think it has to be the standard R Dynamic SE wheels looking at those.

That’s good to hear. I have nether stressed so much about colour and wheel choice. Always gone when stock availability in the past but speccing from scratch has been a big headache. (Although a nice headache worrying about how a £60k Velar will look in the end 😀)

On a side note I’m going to get some grey locking nut cap instead of the silver a so think they would look a lot better.

I had this very dilemma for a month prior to placing my order. I then saw a dirty Coris Grey car with the grey rims and to me it didn't do the car justice as the wheels just disappeared. I then decided to go with something akin to the 1st picture above.

Pretty certain 2nd and 3rd pics are both Corris (I have corris). It changes shade quite a bit depending on the light. the carpanthian is much darker, almost a shade of black (I think this is what you mean by premium metallic ?)
