iPhone dock/cradle

Post by JonnyVTEC » Sat Dec 01, 2018 3:58 pm

Has anyone got the cradle for the iPhone in cupholder? Interested to hear if they are any good.

I’m paranoid about the cable flicking and the metal end catching the screen or gloss black. Also there’s no dedicated relief in the armrest lid for the cable to exit. :geek:

I don’t have it, but bear in mind that it isn’t compatible with every iPhone model.

In mine I have the cable exit between the arm rest slides in the middle. This way the cable can be pulled out or pushed back in with zero resistance. So no exit relief needed.

Likewise on mine. Perfect gap for it. When not in use all you see is the end of the cable. Looks nice and neat and tidy!

Also. The cupholder charger does not fit the max or plus iPhones

Hi I went down a slightly different route.
I put 2 wireless chargers in the centre console
I also used a USB Cigarette lighter adapter instead of the car infotainment system USB Connections for a couple reasons
1. The wireless chargers are cheap and made in China, so just in case they failed no damage would occur to the cars infotainment system
2. I wasn’t sure the what the power rating of infotainment USB Connections. Wireless chargers require around 2.1 amps
I’ve attached some pictures
