After having the car for a few months and 3500 miles later, I Just tried the S mode on my 180d R Dynamic Se Velar
Oh yes I am impressed- my first thoughts were it may be a gimmick, I was definitely wrong.
Selected the dynamic mode and then turned the gear selected dial to S mode - did not use the paddle shift.
Wow wow round town the car was instant power of the mark no lag - put your foot down and you can feel all the 180bhp - handles well for a huge car. The look on the standard boy racers omg wtf just happened here like facial impressions!
I think I shall be using the S Mode a lot more.

the first time I used S mode in mine was to overtake some slower traffic. I flicked to S, stamped (not in the least bit gently) and nearly sh@t myself at the sudden change of pace.
Sadly I don’t get the opportunity to use the S mode much to it’s full advantage..but it’s a very different car in S!

Wolfie- I had a D300hse Velar as a loan car for a few weeks- best thing I’ve driven - S mode in that was lethal .. boy it puts a huge smile on your face:)
On the 180d I thought it was a gimmick- but defo not.
The 300 - is a different beast altogether, have fun and make the most of it.

I use Sport and Dynamic a fair bit on twisty back roads, the car is a different animal.

I'm slowly approaching the mileage when I can engage Dynamic and Sport modes. I have been very good so far except once when I had to floor the accelerater to avoid being hit in the side, the car fairly leapt out from under me after a small bit of lag.
Can't wait until I can see what it's like, hopefully without the lag that's there when driving in D and Comfort.

No lag in S and Dynamic, it just flies.
I would like to try the P300 or even better the P380

The D300hse is the best engine in my opinion, S - mode should be a norm.

I have the R Dyn SE P300...... and yes alot sharper than in D. Great in both auto and using the flappy paddles. I must say how nice it sounds for a 4 pot engine too compared to a diesel. (Had a Disco sport 180) quiet in low revs and nice burbal higher up the rev counter.

Must try Dynamic and S a bit more. I've been noticing bad lag when pulling off from junctions in my D180 - quite dangerous in the mornings, when I'm pulling out onto busy roads.
