Hands up - This crackling/popping Audio

Post by kangaman » Thu May 09, 2019 7:43 pm

G'day All,

I'm getting a little worried about this issue.....

Just a simple yes or no would help me....

Has everyone been effected by this....? (My dealer says as long as the is booted up before driving away - this will not happen?)

Not been an issue for me so far. It does look like this primarily affects the 850W Meridian systems installed in the SE model (I have an S).

SE 850W meridian here
Never had the audio crackle

It’s obviously a hardware issue, or we should all be getting it

It's not a problem that I have experienced except when the other cay when I was listening music while updating the map software. Personally I wouldn't call it crackling as what you are really hearing, if this is the same problem, is chopping - missing bits of music information. Now normally nobody should expect a system to do what I was doing and not suffer any problems, but it does make me think its a 'bit' issue and it could be software related and we might not all have the fault.

As others have I'd make sure everything alse was up to speed before connecting your phone to listen to music to avoid any issues.

I have a HSE with 850 Meridian sound, had the car for over 6 months. Never had a crackle until today...! I heard the crackle during map update as and I am surprised to see someone else had a similar experience during map update! No crackles on the way back from work today which was the first journey after the map update and hope it does stay that way!
