Load lip

Post by Haybrd » Wed May 15, 2019 7:32 pm

Hi all,

I wondered if someone could tell me what sort of load lip there is in the Velar? Does it depend on spare wheel size?

All the reviews I’ve seen say there is no load lip but the model I had to test drive last week (SE with reduced size alloy) had a 2-3inch load lip in the boot?

Many thanks

Absolutley correct, I have the space saver which is a pretty decent tyre but it leaves me with at least a 2-4" lip. I also understand that the full size tyre laeves you with a flat boot. Where I am supposed to put a full size tyre after its been changed remains to be seen! :o

Just measured it, :geek: its almost exactly 90 mm or 3.75" in old money (upside more storage space)!

One the same subject, is anyone aware of a decent protector for the load lip (with the space saver tyre)?
