The data use per month seems to vary by user but for me I travel around 1500 miles a month and use less than the 500MB I get free each month.

One quirk we’ve discovered is that if you stream Music using ACP this seems to take data from the car SIM and not the phone SIM. This has been reported to JLR I believe.

I do about half the mileage that you do but my 500mb data allowance is usually finished about 2/3rds though the month. I do use ACP and play music and podcasts but try to download them over WiFi for the most part. Having said all of that, I can’t say I’ve noticed any difference before and after the data has run out so I was wondering what exactly was going on data-wise. Is there any way to tell?

I’ve not tried it with the SIM card out of the Velar to see if that impacts it. I might give that a try.

OK so I'm guessing that connecting to the Home WiFi the car looks like it (automatically ????) updated and lo and behold APC/AA have appeared. Over the moon is an understatement, and all the advice has saved a trip and countless hours at LR so thank you. Pic below.

Would still like to know if anyone knows how much data the live services etc use per month.

I use the car's Nav with satellite view enabled, traffic updates etc and the free 500MB of data we in the UK get doesn't last the 1000 miles or so I drive each month, with the SIM running out of data somewhere in the middle of week 2-3. So I reckon the car uses around 750MB per 1000 miles/30-hours of use.
When the free SIM runs out I swap over to a 3 data SIM, as mentioned above, until my JLR supplied UBIGI SIM gets another 500MB of free data on the 12th of each month.

Chastt, Satellite view chews through data!

I only use it when I am not familiar with an area and am looking for a specific turning or building.

Picked up a 12gb three roaming sim for 30 euros off Amazon and stuck it in, lasts 12 months so I think should be enough.

There is info on here somewhere on normal usage but if I remember correctly it’s around 200Mb per month unless you use satellite view which increases it a lot!
