Re: Residual values

I was just watching an interview (6th May) with Mike Brewer (Wheeler Dealers) and he was very critical, from a Dealer's perspective, about the effects that Cap and Glass's Guide have on used car prices.

(33 minutes in)

I would imagine, as usual, there is a back-story on all this re markets, sales demand and stats etc. in the current difficult times.
All in all it doesn't good if relying/praying on residuals right now especially if you had to dig deep (or maybe a bit too deep) in order to buy the car.
As I was planning on a trade-in + order shortly I feel the pain.

Same here. At this point in ownership I usually change, on my evoque and two RRS generally around break even, after a couple of investigations looks like I’m 8-12k off that mark currently! Not good.

Used Velars on Autotrader under £30k now! Not surprising given the offers on new ones sold and the state of the economy.
