Thanks for your valuable input.
I think I have decided to go without the mud flaps, as I will never go off-roading here in Italy, and the roads are actually pretty good and clean. Usually the sun shines here, so it's rarely that I will have to drive in rain etc.
When it happens, I guess I will have to wash it.. damn it! ;-)..
