I have 20B1 and it’s made no difference to the logout issue at all. Why would there be a “stay logged in” (from memory) checkbox if that’s “how the system operates” by design?.......
Indeed...
And why at the same time are they advising me to install 20B1 to fix this issue?

Thanks both. We all need to keep the pressure on JLR either directly or through our dealers.

I am pretty sure that the good folk at BMW or Audi would have dealt with this the moment they became aware, lockdown or no lockdown. This has been an issue for well over a year.

In such a prestige vehicle if it says it does something you expect it to do it not get palmed off with lame excuses.

Having experienced a premium German brand, I would not count on any of them dealing with their system better! Likewise the documentation gaps and lack (or no information) on updates. I seem to recall the same issues with Microsoft, etc.

I had exactly the same problem on the F-Pace I had before the Velar. It is so annoying, and why oh why is there a 'stay logged in' option if it doesn't work?
Can anyone think why you would ever want to log out anyway?

My car is still downloading something - it has been driven for several hours since my last post. I am still assuming it is 20B1 coming down but no idea really.

I will be on the road for 3 hours tomorrow but not confident the download will arrive!!

Is anyone else having similar, very slow downloads??

Has anyone heard from JLR on the logout issue??

Thanks

Sjbatpsl.

S20B1 was 6MB as I recall so shouldn’t take that long. Unless you’re not not on S20B yet. LR probably stopped offering that as B1 would seem to be an attempt at a bug fix for S20B.

20B1 didn't fix the issue for me. LR tell me they are "are actively looking for a fix".

I am already running 20B. That was JLR’s last panacea. However, & as expected, 3hr 5min of journey time & still I am downloading something.

I am really getting very fed up with my hi-tech Velar & I find it totally unprofessional of JLR to just bury their head in the sand & hope that this will either go away or that a software patch will resolve it.

For a company that sells itself on customer care & excellence in its vehicles it is certainly failing abysmally at the moment.

Would I recommend a JLR vehicle to anyone - absolutely not.

After 'actively investigating' this issue for 5 months LR have told me that the system is designed to log out after 24 hours of inactivity and that my car is acting as designed. Not sure if that's 24 hours between start-ups or between shutdown & start-up; but I've sent them logs of my activity over a couple of weeks, that show the car staying logged in when not used for well over 24 hours & logging out with about 16 hours between starts, so we'll see what the next excuse is.
