After 'actively investigating' this issue for 5 months LR have told me that the system is designed to log out after 24 hours of inactivity and that my car is acting as designed. Not sure if that's 24 hours between start-ups or between shutdown & start-up; but I've sent them logs of my activity over a couple of weeks, that show the car staying logged in when not used for well over 24 hours & logging out with about 16 hours between starts, so we'll see what the next excuse is.
So could you ask them why there’s a “stay logged in” checkbox in settings then please?

Why would it be designed to log out after 24 hours? That makes no sense what so ever... so you come back from holiday, jump in your car and have to log in before you can get navigation home again?

The 'remember my details' doesn't even work if you get logged out. It always asks for the password and has been broken since my MY17 D5.

Had another call from LR today. Here are releasing an update to the sat nav system to address the logout issue. They don’t have a date for it, but it will come as part of a map update sometime in the future.
Not holding my breath!

So...maybe the update they have just rolled out addresses this issue. I've just installed it two days ago and still haven't had time to drive it yet.

I'll check it later when taking the kid from school, hope it fixes it :-D

Cheers.

Unfortunately no. They were clear that the 'fix' hadn't been produced yet, but would be in the future. LR promised to let me know of its release, if they were informed by Here. I'll post an update if & when I hear something.

Why would Here demand regular log out of the Nav? This is a JLR ‘feature’ not the map provider surely ?

I guess Here provide the modules to display the map, calculate routes etc as well as the raw data.

Why they would require a daily logout remains a mystery.

That is total BS. Hate to say it, but mine has never logged me out, since fall of 2019.

Hopefully with a new TCU fitted and updated to the latest software version (original one wouldn’t update), I will now enjoy no data sucking episodes and nav log outs.

Fingers crossed

SimonH - how have you got on??? I have just given up on this ever being fixed. I don’t think JLR have a clue as to how to fix it & no one really gives a damn - my next car might not be a JLR product!!!
