What's a full tank cost

Post by abe2021 » Mon Apr 12, 2021 7:19 pm

Just wondering before I jump in - what does a full tank of petrol cost for a Velar P300 at the moment (in the UK)?

Ball park figure of £75, obviously depends on brand, supermarket v oil companies, unleaded v super unleaded etc.

And the rest.... P300 no longer available. When it was introduced in MY19 cars it had an 82 litre petrol tank - So i would say £100.00 on average from empty.

I'm running on P250 engine with 75 liter gas tank.

Just multiply the tank size by gasoline price :).

Forgive me for being a bit cheeky here but....

..... how much does a P300 Velar with a decent spec cost? By contrast, a tank of fuel?

If you can afford the former and are willing to part with the cash, then does the latter just become nothing more than an incidental cost?

When I bought our Velar it was for the sheer joy and buzz of this car. If it was a purchase of the head then I wouldn’t be driving one of these in the first place. It’s possible to know the price of something but not the value of it?

Just a thought, no disrespect intended. More musings really...

I hear you, Arianne but there are some very different takes on things.

As an example, I have a car that cost £132,000 new and options on top. I belong to a forum of passionate owners who, like this group, discuss and share ideas.
And it always surprises me how folks ask whether they should service the car every year, especially this year that they haven't been driving much. And where to get it cheapest.
Folks ask about the mileage and want to compare with everyone else.
Or want to niggle over monthly payments when they're eating huge depreciation costs.
There is nothing practical or financially about a 2-seat, 570 bhp V8 sport car!

Yet I look at my own choices. I have never bought a used car even though it makes so much financial sense.
Yet I negotiate vigorously with the dealers and never close until I have got the smartest deal [Usually 10% off on a new car - I could run a masterclass on this!]

Point being, it is not a linear choice - for many there is complete misdirection based on their past ownership history and sensitivities.

More musings and no disrespect meant to anyone.

Enjoy the good weather, safe driving all!

I just wish I could fill up £100 per tank. Ceteris paribus.
It's ironic that the Range does in fact have a short range.
