Interesting post

From my discussion with the dealer about this, the only recommended position is the centre console cup holder which works ergonomically as well as it is within natural arm reach and visibility. Not being able to close the centre console lid does not bother me at all.

The other position would snag with the arm rest and your passenger's hand should they be using the arm rest.

Finally there is a difference between the iPhone dock and the wireless charging dock which is not phone specific.

Good call! They are definitely different, but I suppose the same conditions should apply to both assuming they protrude the same amount.

Not sure what the size and connector differences are between the iPhone dock (wired) and the Qi wireless charger dock that I have had installed. But in my case I prefer it installed in the centre console cup holder because ergonomically it is easier to slide in/out when seated in the drivers seat. Not particularly missing having the centre console closed.

Seems a pointless accessory - why not just use the USB port under the armrests for charging?!

Would be better lay flat out of the way.
I wonder if the space under the centre console could be used?

I had the cup installed, connected my galaxy S9 but it gets very hot and after 15 minutes the charger blinks red.
Do You know anything about such issue?

What is the option called? Close to locking in my order so want to make sure it’s on my car.

Do we know if the Cup charger is going to be compatibile with iPhone Xs ?
Dimensionwise it seems to fit, but I am not sure about safe charging

Just found it on the configurator and my iPhone 8plus won’t fit! Never mind.

Hi I went down a slightly different route.
I put 2 wireless chargers in the centre console
I also used a USB Cigarette lighter adapter instead of the car infotainment system USB Connections for a couple reasons
1. The wireless chargers are cheap and made in China, so just in case they failed no damage would occur to the cars infotainment system
2. I wasn’t sure the what the power rating of infotainment USB Connections. Wireless chargers require around 2.1 amps
I’ve attached some pictures
