With the Start Stop System on , when the engine is turned off (i.e. at a red light) and I unlock my belt, the car will automatically go into P (Park) and switch off. To turn the engine back on, I then have to start the engine again and get it back into D (drive). Anyone knows how to turn this feature off?
Surely it's quite a good thing that the car has that safety measure, despite the fact that in the UK it is legal to reverse a car without a seatbelt on (I never would though - I feel uncomfortable without my belt on!)
My previous Evoque did this. I was told that this has to do with government regulations and is a safety precaution since it has an automatic electric parking brake. It seems like it could be smarter than this, but for now its not specific to the Velar.
I don't think it's a safety measure. It is legal to take off your belt in order to maneuver (park etc.). I think it is supposed to be a convenience feature (you don't even have to put the car into park anymore... it does it automatically... nice... right...) but I still wish we could switch it off.
