New X5

Post by markah » Tue Nov 13, 2018 11:03 pm

What does everyone recon to this new X5 beast?

Matching my Velar deal this thing would cost £300 a month more. Wow.

I love it. If I were to buy a new car today, it would probably be the new X5. The build quality inside and out is incredible.

I’d rather push my Velar than drive anything from BMW.

I'm a big fan of BMW but still would choose Range Rover Velar or Sport

I’m a BMW fan as well. Recently traded our 2005 330Cic and got a 2018 X1 xDrive for our 2nd vehicle. Realize it’s no X5 or Velar but it’s nice and we got a fantastic deal - half the cost of our Velar before trade. The X1 is also getting a hitch install for a bike rack which helps solve my dilemma about adding one to the Velar.

Back to the X5 - I’ve always admired the X5 and feel that it’s a great vehicle, but have never owned one. One reason for not buying one is that as we just didn’t want to own 2 vehicles from the same manufacturer. Same reason we didn’t even look at the evoque for our 2nd car - strange right?

Also, the X5 doesn’t look even close to as good as the Velar. I think the previous gen of the X5 looks better than current production. This is all my opinion of course as posted on a Velar forum. :D

I love BMW and have driven nothing but beemers for 10 years, this will be my first change of brand. I needed a family car but the new X3 and new X5 are just so ugly I couldnt bring myself to order them... both drive well and interior is lovely but the outside of the car is just not to my taste at all.

If I didnt need a family car right now due to the divorce it would have been another 3 series for me would have likely traded the 340i for the new model M340i

Off-topic, but I do really envy car prices in your country... would be happy to buy X5 with 3.0 engine for that price. Here you get a skoda for £60k.. :D
