GAP insurance start date

Post by Haybrd » Wed Aug 28, 2019 1:51 pm

Hi all,

Just about to pick the new car up on Sunday (getting more than excited now!) so getting all the insurance sorted. The cheapest comprehensive quote I got is with Churchill who provide new car replacement cover (in case of a total loss claim) for the first year. As I’m buying on finance (over 4 years) I also plan to take out GAP insurance to cover the term.

My question is though should I postpone the start date of the (3 year) GAP policy for 12 months as Churchill cover the first year or do I need a 4 year GAP policy? Is there something I’m missing?

Thanks in advance!
