Haven't tried air suspension, but I am happy with the ride on my coils. Very smooth but connected to the road. Coils still have the adaptive suspension system which may help with the ride.
I believe (in UK at least) that adaptive shock absorbers is now an option too.

Adaptive Dynamics were standard on MY18 builds but became optional (chargeable) on the MY19 spec. If you ordered your Velar on the MY18 configurator but are receiving an MY19 car (which will be most people in the 'delay' queue) then your dealer should be funding inclusion of AD. Its worth checking.
