Our velar sat for 3 weeks. No battery issues when we came back.

Our term of non usage of our Velar also 2 weeks, after that the message about low battery appears.
If you have this issue try to buy and use a decent charger - I use CTEK for my Velar and motorbike during winter or summer if I do not use it for 10 days or more. I have noticed that many dealers use this gadget as well while cars stay at the showrooms.
Thanks mate.
Which one do you recommend?

CTEK 56-309 MXS 3.8A or CTEK MXS 5.0 - 12V 5A ?

Anyways, I think my battery should be faulty...

Thanks.

It would be good if someone with a "tracker" connected could report his experience.

In my case, I have the Vodafone Tracker and I dont know if that could be the problem...

MXS 5.0 - this one I was advised by CTEK dealer when I gave them my Velar’s battery specifications

Less than 24 hrs, battery low sitting in my garage (which is a relief I guess). Won’t start though. Why no recall? Other forums talk of a software update? Did you receive that? Mine is only 6 weeks old and 1500 miles. Unacceptable. I lease so I don’t have to worry about dead batteries, certainly not on such an expensive car.

Hi guys,

There are a couple of posts talking about 'warning battery issue', and I am one of those affected.
I dont know if the problem is the battery, a specific module or a software update. :?

The reality is that if i dont use the car for 3-4 days, I get the warning message. Once I drive it for a few minutes, it dissapears...

The dealer already charged it and told me that if it happens again, they will report it and change it under guarantee.

Is there any specific upgrade (on Topix) for this problem?

I would like to know what is the maximum time that you have been without using the car?

I have read that people with the Evoque or Discovery have been up to 5 weeks...

Thanks
Hi, I have been away for 4 weeks and started fine - however i have a fleet of vans that all have trackers in. Most will last about 2 weeks before we see issues. We use a trickle charger on some of our specialist ones that dont move unless we need them in bad weather. For this we use a Bosch SmartCharge plus that cycles and maintains the condition of the battery.

The above also shows you the voltage in the battery as short journeys may have similar effect where not regenerating enough charge versus the drain.

Hope helps!

Even if you park the car in a locked garage, the car itself must be locked. Otherwise the car does not sleep and the apps keep working, therefore making the battery go flat after a short time.

I always lock the car (pressing the close button in the remote one time)... and after 3 days without using the car, I get the 'warning battery message'. I dont think this is normal. It should be a faulty battery... :(

Does only pressing the lock button once shut the car down completely? In thought it was necessary to double lock to shut all systems down.
