Dynamic Handling Retrofit

Post by VelarBlack » Mon May 20, 2019 8:40 am

Hi All,
I am expecting to take delivery of a MY19.5 soon with electronic air suspension.
Is anyone aware if the following can be retrofitted:
1. Configurable Dynamics
2. All Terrain Progress Control
3. Terrain Response 2 with Dynamic Program
The car was in build so unfortunately I wasn’t able to spec these options, but the price was right!
Thanks!

No, would be my guess...
Configurable dynamics might be useful, not sure if you would ever use the other two options.. unless you live on the side of a mountain..

I found this post for an F-Pace with a quick Google, wondered if the same might be possible on Velar?

it could be, as i would guess its only software, but getting someone to do it, including a dealer, may be an issue

Waste of time IMO none of them add any worth to the car, ATPC is just a cruise control function for off road use, TR2 adds nothing that the car doesn’t already have other than a auto setting that lets the car decide what program to use for the terrain being driven on and configurable dynamics I’ve never really seen the point off. But that’s just purely my opinion.

I would add configurable dynamics if I could. I like driving in Dynamic mode for the throttle response and stiffened steering, but when I’m around the city or on roads that aren’t as smooth, I’d like the ability to keep the throttle response while softening the suspension to Comfort. Agree the other two aren’t as useful unless you do off-road driving a lot and aren’t too experienced, which is contradictory on its own

I have all these fitted to mine with the air suspension. Yeah i would agree the TR2 probably unnecessary but with the config dynamics i am able to have a firmer suspension setting while keeping the rest of the dynamics in comfort which is my preferred driving style. Had this set up on all my previous Audis so was a no brainer to spec it for me. (found the firmer suspension helps with kids in back and dogs in boot too feeling less squiffy )

Just piping in to say that I've wondered the same. Configurable Dynamics seems like it's purely software.

I think everyone has buyers remorse no matter how we spec our cars, configurable dynamics is the one I want the most, i’ll try and hint on collection day that I’m feeling this way and see if dealer offers an update to CFF (happy to pay the factory price).
