Android Auto / Black screen

Post by kukoc7 » Sun Feb 09, 2020 9:28 pm

Hi three,

I'm currently running my entertaiment system on latest 19C build. Unfortunately Ive noticed that if you plug your Android device to USB port too quickly (while system is booting) or if you start your engine with already plugged in smartphone, like for example on petrol station, then you may end up with black screen on the top od the dash.

Im order to fix it you must stop. Turn off the car go for a coffee and come back on 15 min or so.

Issue happen to me already 3 times for the past month.

On such occasions I think to myself that I should have bought myself an Audi Q5... Audi owners dont have such problems.

The system already runs on Linux, why JLR didn't implement watchdog that overlooks display status and restarts it if something went wrong. Its jus bizzar.

Anyone noticed this bug or am I the only unlucky one :).

Try the genuine manufacturer's cable that came with your phone, not a replacement cord. This fixed my issues.
