Wheel/Rim Upgrade

Post by Jk7 » Sat May 16, 2020 11:31 pm

Hi, I have 20 "rims under my Velar and would like to have 21" rims but I don't have the "adaptive dynamics" option. Does anyone know if an upgrade is possible without the "adaptive dynamics" option?

Yes, I have 22s with fatter tires and there's no issue at all!

So you don't have “adaptive dynamics” as an option? They look good 👍 I don't know why adaptive dynamics are needed when you take bigger rims

Adaptive Dynamics are standard across all Velar's with coil or air suspension. Configurable Dynamics are an option or standard on higher spec trim levels.
ADAPTIVE DYNAMICS
The Adaptive Dynamics system delivers both precise dynamics and a
supple, luxurious ride by monitoring wheel position and body movements.
To do this, the system constantly analyses acceleration, steering, throttle
and brake pedal activity. The electronically controlled dampers adjust
to optimise the suspension settings and provide the optimum balance
between comfort, refinement and agility at all times.

CONFIGURABLE DYNAMICS
To enhance either refinement and comfort or the vehicle’s performance,
the optional Configurable Dynamics function allows you to configure
Range Rover Velar’s throttle mapping, gearbox shift points, steering
settings and suspension to suit your driving needs.

I bought a stock car and have the 20 "rims. When you configure the velar yourself you have to take the option adaptive dynamics for 21" and 22 "rims. That’s why i ask the question here if this would be a problem if I drive 21 ”rims without adaptive dynamics. I don’t have this option. I live in Belgium and maybe the options here are different

@jk7 are you sure the option was not for Configurable Dynamics? Can't see why it wouldn't be standard in all countries...

I seem to remember that for a time they made Adaptive Dynamics an option & then reverted to it being standard again (at least in the UK).
