Hi all,
Mr order has now been changed to the new model MY21. I was originally having the V6 D300, but now that a new P400 is available, I'm torn between the two new MHEVs - D300 and the P400.
I have studied all the new technology - but it's the actual driving experience knowledge that I'm after.
I'm assuming the D300 will be similar to the old V6 which I know well, but I have no experience of powerful Range Rover petrol engines with a ZF Auto box.
Car would be used daily, but also for extensive touring and very occasional towing. That sounds very D300. However, I am also a keen driver and enjoy performance cars - could the P400 do it all???
Would appreciate your thoughts!

All very good points. However, I've just spoken to someone who had a First Edition P380 and they raved about it!!

The P400 is indeed a "Straight Six" so should be very smooth.
In fact the new D300 is also a straight six, but I'm leaning heavily towards the P400 now.
The P400 has been in the RR Sport for a little while and seems to have very favourable reviews.

Hi Spokenhands,

I wouldn't call the P400 a small engine at 3.0Litres, straight six, supercharged and turbocharged with 550 NM of torque and 400 horsepower!!
Apparently it's very popular on the RR Sport, and as the Velar is a bit lighter, I think it would be more than adequate.

Great discussion though, and I really appreciate the replies!

All valid points!!
I had the D300 (sort of - it was SDV6 then but with same performance figures) in a RR Sport and I loved it!
However. The new D300 straight six is down on torque at 650NM, which is still loads! Hence the dilemma.
I've also just sold my iPace with 700NM of INSTANT torque, so enjoyed that too!!
