Now on version 3.2.0.
Very strange! Apple car play and Alexa are available from version 3.0! if the dealer has updated the software and you have Apple C.P and Alexa, it could be that you now have 3.0 but the display is not showing correctly .. Before the last update, my Velar did not show any software version .. it is now stopped at 2.1.6b (from March 30)Strange update!
I called at dealers only to find they said software was current at 2.1.7b and it says so in settings. However they did say that wireless CarPlay was not working (not supposed to work until OS3.0) so they had reset on their Pathfinder diagnostic and all was working now!
I checked car and sure enough I now have wireless CarPlay, Amazon Alexa and the bottom display has switched round like on OS 3.0…. But I still have 2.1.7b.
have given up trying to work it out!!
I’m getting much longer range this week, I’ve put it down to the warmer weather, I got into work today, 27 miles of ev on the app and still had 9 miles range. Same in the way home.I'd be interested to know if PHEV battery warranties follow full EV usual warranties (what is it 8 years and 20% degradation or something? Legislation in some places.).
From LR (UK) webpage:
"For your peace of mind, we guarantee the battery in your Land Rover PHEV for 6 years or 60,000 miles – whichever comes first. And while it’s under warranty, our EV experts will fix any material defects free of charge.
In fact, the rare occurrence of a battery issue is generally caused by a single cell. The module containing this cell can easily be replaced to return the pack to its peak performance."
LR (USA) on the PHEV page says 8 years but I suspect they're referring to a full EV.
I'd keep an eye on it to see if it's just a 'learning' anomaly or the display. Otherwise straight back to LR for a fresh expensive battery which will, I suspect, be a right old wrestling match.
They'll try and blame your charging regime or say it's a it cold. Actually it is a bit cold.
Today I took delivery of a 55 Black Edition etron SUV. Absolute beaut of a car. Build quality is phenomenal, and ride quality is something else. Never driven such a smooth and well refined car! For a huge lump it handles really well, plenty quick enough too! I ordered back in December, so took around 4 months to arrive.Yesterday in warm weather and al local driving got 20 miles and battery completely depleted. I will have a word with the dealer but already looking at buying an alternative and definitely not a RR. I have had the car 11 months and it’s been one issue after another - I was offered an Audi ETron Sportback for £ 5k less than the Velar. It was a demo with only 500 miles on it. I couldn’t get along with the cameras instead of mirrors - I really wished I had persevered
