If you can locate the switch for the bonnet find a way to put it in the closed position then try locking the car. There are also 3 latches one may not be catching, left, center, right.

 

Just had a look whilst cleaning. There is no center latch just left and right. On the drivers side where the U shaped latch engages with the clamping mechanism there is a switch on the engine side. perhaps some WD40 May fix it short term or try removing the switch…

 

I put wd40 just on the latches, hoping that it would lubricate the locking mechanisms. After two hours, it had done the trick! The car is now locked!

This is a common issue with all ranges . I have a YouTube video on it for an old evoque . But i doubt it’s the micro switch that’s gone . It’s more likely the Bonnet catch part ( bit that goes into lock ) needs adjusting to push microswitch zz sfter repeated open and closes this sometimes goes out of alignment . You can easily adjust Bolts on it . Temp fix if this not your issue is to pull out switch from lock ( normally on side of car the bonnet release is on ) and stick a paper clip to bridge connection and tape up this will simulate microswitch closed . The lock is cheap to buy off eBay . Has lots of models numbers but there all the same . Have a look inside lock first to check microswitch gone or or
